Lady Gaga - Audience responses

Audiences have responded to Lady Gaga in many different ways, good and bad;
"Gaga doesn’t know when to hold back and it’s a damn good thing" -  says NME. "The meat dress was one of my favourites. It was shocking and memorable," The Daily Star quoted. Gaga's decision was fiercely criticised by animal rights campaigners. Ingrid Newkirk, the Peta founder, said "the outfit of real meat, could have a detrimental effect on the artist's record sales." Lady Gaga has upset alot of her audience and caused controversy, she is offending many people/Christians in her song 'Judas'. Her body position is inviting for the male audience, her sexual facial expression is encouraging sex. In this image she is percieved in a negative way. "She is trying to rip off Christian idolatry to shore up her talentless, mundane and boring performances," says the president of the Catholic League. Some audiences are reeled in by Lady Gaga, they believe she is an icon they will be injected with the negative and positive information that they will take in passively to trigger a desired response. Other audiences use her music for escapism, personal identity, diversion and entertainment.
